City of Heavenly Fire(by Cassandra Clare)

9/10

Okay so to start this review I will say BY THE ANGEL!!!!!!!!!

!!!Malec!!!

In this dazzling and long-awaited conclusion to the acclaimed Mortal Instruments series, Clary and her friends fight the greatest evil they have ever faced: Clary's own brother.

Sebastian Morgenstern is on the move, systematically turning Shadowhunter against Shadowhunter. Bearing the Infernal Cup, he transforms Shadowhunters into creatures out of nightmare, tearing apart families and lovers as the ranks of his Endarkened army swell.

The embattled Shadowhunters withdraw to Idris - but not even the famed demon towers of Alicante can keep Sebastian at bay. And with the Nephilim trapped in Idris, who will guard the world against demons?

When one of the greatest betrayals the Nephilim have ever known is revealed, Clary, Jace, Isabelle, Simon, and Alec must flee - even if their journey takes them deep into the demon realms, where no Shadowhunter has set foot before, and from which no human being has ever returned...

Love will be sacrificed and lives lost in the terrible battle for the fate of the word in the thrilling final installment of the classic urban fantasy series The Mortal Instruments!

I am so sorry for putting this review aside for over a month but I just could not get around to writing this review! Let alone organize my thoughts on this finale!!!
This whole series was incredible! I loved it so much and cried when I finished this book out of sorrow for it's end. It was magical, griping, stressful, romantic, bang-your-head-on-the-wall good!!!
All greatness for this series aside though, there where a few things I did not like in the final book.
For one, I think that we where far too hyped up, expecting a lot more soul crushing deaths, nail biting battles and tear jerking moments. But instead we where met with utter disappointment. Now I hate to say that I had hoped for more characters to die but alas, I did. I know, I know kill me now. But I was so hyped and absolutely dreading the outcome of this book, for over a year, as to when I finally read all the way through to it's pretty bow ending I was disappointed.
It wasn't even just that though. I had been dying for a Jace and Tessa moment. Absolutely dying! But of course I don't get one!
But I have to admit, asides from those two-most probable minor-details I loved this book. It kept me engaged from start to finish and I cannot wait to get my hands on Cassie's next works!!!

Cruel Beauty (by Rosamund Hodge)

 8.5/10

She was trained for seventeen years

     To Kill Him

     raised by her world

  To Despise Him

willing to trade her own life

  To Destroy Him.

But what she never expected was that he would

  Change Her Forever.

Based on the classic fairy tale Beauty and the Beast, Cruel Beauty is a dazzling love story about our deepest desires and their power to change our destiny.

Since birth, Nyx has been betrothed to the evil ruler of her kingdom-all because of a foolish bargain struck by her father. And since birth, she has been in training to kill him.

With no choice but to fulfill her duty, Nyx resents her family for never trying to save her and hates herself for wanting to escape her fate. Still, on her seventeenth birthday, Nyx abandons everything she's ever known to marry the all-powerful, immortal Ignifex. Her plan? Seduce him, destroy his enchanted castle, and break the nine-hundred-year-old curse he put on her people.

But Ignifex is not at all what Nyx expected. The strangely charming lord beguiles her, and his castle-a shifting maze of magical rooms-enthralls her.

As Nyx searches for a way to free her homeland by uncovering Ignifex's secrets, she finds herself unwillingly drawn to him. Even if she could bring herself to love her sworn enemy, how can she refuse her duty to kill him? With time running out, Nyx must decide what is more important: the future of her kingdom, or the man she was never supposed to love.

8.5/10

This book was absolutely beautiful. It was masterfully written and intoxicating. I fell in love with the world, characters and riveting plot. It was unlike anything I have ever read. Absolutely breathtaking! I highly recommend this novel! Strange, romantic, dark, provocative and twisted all at once this debut novel is a winner!
I would highly recommend it to anyone! It was romantic without ever getting steamy so I believe that even younger readers could take some enjoyment from it. Though by saying that in no way am I saying that in any way this is a children's novel, it is definitely YA fiction. So go give it a go! You won't regret it.

Poison Princess(by Kresley Cole)

She could save the world—or destroy it.Sixteen-year-old Evangeline "Evie" Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they're still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.

But she can't do either alone.

With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can't totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?

Who can Evie trust?

As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it's not always clear who is on which side.

My rating~ 6.5/10

I am going to be totally honest, when I first read the synopsis of this book I was not interested whatsoever. But by best friend made me read it and I am glad I did.
At first the book was very confusing, I had absolutely no clue what was going on or why certain things were happening the way they where.
But once I got the point in the book where I was a little shy of halfway things started to click into place and the book really got interesting.
I loved the idea of the Arcana cards the author uses as well as the stories way of shifting the odd time from the past in Evies perspective and the future in Arthurs.
Jackson Deveaux (Jack Daniels) is the most infuriating character! I could rant on and on about him! He is such a disappointing pig!!! Don't get me wrong I have had my fair share of crude book boyfriends. But there is a fine line between the odd crude comment and being a classless swine!

I will admit that this book was definitely not one of my favorites, but I have a feeling that the second book will really take off and the series will turn into something great!
Overall this was a pretty great fast paced YA with lots of potential.

Alienated (by Melissa Landers)

I Love, Love, Loved this book. A solid 7/10 ratting! It was so hard to put down and totally swoon worthy! If you haven't heard of it yet check out the synopsis:

Two years ago, the aliens made contact. Now Cara Sweeney is going to be sharing a bathroom with one of them.

Handpicked to host the first-ever L’eihr exchange student, Cara thinks her future is set. Not only does she get a free ride to her dream college, she’ll have inside information about the mysterious L’eihrs that every journalist would kill for. Cara’s blog following is about to skyrocket.

Still, Cara isn’t sure what to think when she meets Aelyx. Humans and L’eihrs have nearly identical DNA, but cold, infuriatingly brilliant Aelyx couldn’t seem more alien. She’s certain about one thing, though: no human boy is this good-looking.

But when Cara's classmates get swept up by anti-L'eihr paranoia, Midtown High School suddenly isn't safe anymore. Threatening notes appear in Cara's locker, and a police officer has to escort her and Aelyx to class.

Cara finds support in the last person she expected. She realizes that Aelyx isn’t just her only friend; she's fallen hard for him. But Aelyx has been hiding the truth about the purpose of his exchange, and its potentially deadly consequences. Soon Cara will be in for the fight of her life—not just for herself and the boy she loves, but for the future of her planet.

Aelyx is SO hot! Where can I get a sexy alien exchange student!?!? This book sets up a great base for what could potentially be a series of epic proportions! I'm already buzzing with anticipation for the next book!
But until it comes out I'll be here...waiting....and waiting....
